Diesel irrigation pump sets are common in agriculture as usually they are needed in isolated areas where admission to electricity networks is limited. A diesel pump runs two thousand hours per year and is run by 20 kW diesel engines. Assuming the similar pumping conditions, we can analyze the cost advantage of replacing the diesel pump with an electric pump of the similar size.
